Did you know that most insurance underwriters and lending institutions only accept marine survey reports completed by an Accredited or Certified marine surveyor? All CMS survey reports are conducted by a marine surveyor who has earned the AMS accreditation from the Society of Accredited Marine Surveyor (SAMS). All surveys reference applicable to Mandatory Safety Standards set forth by the united States Coast Guard (USCG), Code of Federal Regulations, #33 (CFR 33), and the voluntary Standards and Recommended Practices developed by the American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC), and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA).

Once you retain our services, we only work for you and report to no one else. We are there to protect your interests!

PRE-PURCHASE SURVEYS

This type of inspection is strongly advised when purchasing a new or used vessel. Condition and overall operation of the vessel should be examined; covering structural integrity, electrical systems, propulsion system, fuel system, other machinery, navigation equipment, miscellaneous on-board systems, cosmetic appearance, electronics, overall maintenance, out-of-water inspection, and a seatrial.

CONDITION & VALUE SURVEYS (C & V)

This type of survey is similar to the Pre-Purchase Survey, with the exception that seatrials and live testing of the machinery and other onboard systems are not performed. All insurance companies and lending institutions accept this type of survey for underwriting and/or lending purposes.

INSURANCE/CONSUMER DAMAGE APPRAISAL

Damage appraisals are performed to assess the scope of damage, recommend repairs, estimate repair cost, cause of loss or failure, and if requested, subrogation possibilities. All damage appraisal reports include a computer generated worksheet that lists; usual and customary repair costs and costs associated with upgrades, maintenance and extraneous operations.

ENGINE & OUTDRIVE SURVEYS

      PC Based Diagnostic Testing
      Propshaft Trueness Testing
       Sterndrive Pressure Testing
       Oil Analysis
       Infrared Temperature Scans

INVESTIGATIVE SERVICES

We offer a broad range of investigative services to best suit your needs. Some of the services offered are: Theft investigations, expert witness testimony and overseeing of repairs.

VESSEL APPRAISAL

This type of survey is performed to gather enough information to justify or determine the fair market value of the vessel. This is normally needed for estate settlements, donations and legal cases. This survey is not generally accepted for insuring or lending purposes.

OIL ANALYSIS

Oil testing can be a very beneficial tool in determining the internal condition of an engine or transmission. It is also a recommended means to establish a baseline for future testing. The test is performed for 9 elements, 6 wear metals, and 3 contaminant metals. Test results are typically available within 2-4 days and the results are available via e-mail.

MOISTURE TESTING

Testing with a marine moisture meter is one of multiple non-destructive tests used to detect for moisture intrusion and the source of any leaks. CMS upgrades their moisture meters annually to assure the units are properly calibrated and that the most up-to-date technology is being utilized.
